Over the past two months, I have waded into the national debate regarding gay marriage by writing two widely distributed editorials. These op-eds largely addressed the false comparison between African-American oppression and the push for gay rights. I am a Christian, an Independent voter and private citizen who felt compelled to speak out in support of the African-American legacy and the traditional, nuclear family. But my experience over the past two months may be instructive for other Christians, the church in general and the Black church specifically as the fight to protect the next generation of children wages on.

Seven letters or numbers to say almost anything you want. But those limits are being tested in federal court by a Vermont man who tried to write a six-character ode to Jesus on his plate.

eharmonylogo.gifFor nearly a decade, born-again Christian Neil Clark Warren has been working to pair up men and women to help create lasting marriages.

neil-clark-warren.jpgComing soon to EHarmony -- Adam and Steve. The Pasadena-based dating website, heavily promoted by Christian evangelical leaders when it was founded, has agreed in a civil rights settlement to give up its heterosexuals-only policy and offer same-sex matches.

homo-mar-supps2.jpgCalifornia's highest court agreed Wednesday to hear several legal challenges to the state's new ban on same-sex marriage but refused to allow gay couples to resume marrying before it rules.
